The following critical elements must be included: I. Statewide special interest groups: Identify two statewide special interest groups, considered significant because of their political power or influence, one of which is politically aligned with your project’s candidate/campaign and one of which is opposed. Name each group and its political affiliation and state whether the group was in support of or opposed to your candidate/campaign. II. Spending: Explain the nature of election spending done by each group and the impact that spending had on the election. Give specific examples to describe the nature of the group’s spending. Support your opinion about the impact of spending on the election with examples from your research and/or the course reading. This section should be at least two, and no more than four, paragraphs in length. III. Engagement: Describe ways that your campaign engaged the special interest group that was aligned with your candidate in fundraising. Describe at least two engagement approaches and the degree to which each approach was effective in raising funds for the campaign. This section should be at least two, and no more than four, paragraphs in length.
