Health is a very crucial factor in every human being, and in all aspects. Healthcare should be extended even at work places so as to curb the probable hazards in that area. There are many risks in the working places, and they might be physical or mental. In the mental case, the employees can abuse each others’ human rights. This could be verbal or even passed on through some manipulative behavior. The physical hazards can involve accidents in the work place or even assault by fellow work mates. This requires firms to have manager nurses to handle all these issues.
Through this post in the firm, management and supervision of different factors in the organizations is upheld. These factors are such like staff, business programs, location of the organization, and different facilities in the firm. The nurse manager will give health to hold up to the personnel in the organization directly and not directly. The nurse manager plays so many roles to the organization and to the clients. These roles include to plan and to direct health programs to the firm. The nurse manager ensures that the goals and objectives of the assigned organization are attained within the required standard of health care.
The nurse managers also solve many emergency cases by giving quality care to the diseased clients and organization staff. Another role is that he mentors and evaluates staff; this brings out the capability of each individual staff in the organization. The firm’s management is able to judge the performance of each and every person in every activity or function. Nurse Managers are also able to resemble the necessary resources required to perform different activities in the firm and also assessing their possible consequences to the organization staff. Another role is that the nurse manager can schedule and organize healthcare programs sessions for the benefit of the professionals and non-professionals.
Healthcare programs are very important in everyone’s daily life. The nurse manager can be able to do consultations and collaborations to organize such events for the benefit of the staff and the clients of the organization. Another role is that the nurse manager introduces and implements policies that would propagate high quality health services in the organizations. A nurse manager will organize and arrange the development of activities in relation to the staff, tools and the setting of the organization. This makes him emphasize on fundamental steps of taking caution in all the activities in or outside the organization (Marquis,2008).
Decision making is a very important function in any organization setup. By assessing the effects and analyzing the steps towards a specific decision, the nurse manager can come up with secure and credible strategies of achieving a certain goal. When it comes to problem solving in the organization, a nurse manager will take the shortest time possible to address the situation at hand. Any other staff would take much time in the process of identifying the problem and coming up with proper mechanisms to address the problem. Decision making is the final step after problem solving; so decision making is faster when problem solving is handled efficiently. This can be achieved simply, in an organization through the help of a nurse manager.
Critical thinking is another function that converts the general information to more specific and finer details which are logical for the organization to work on. A nurse manager will help the firm move faster in terms of goals and security. The organization now takes no or little risks in all its activities and transactions (Huber,2006).
