Standard essay with introduction, at least seven paragraphs, a clear argument, footnotes (including page number), and bibliography following the History style guide
Quality of argument and analysis; research effort (at least seven sources); referencing (at least twenty footnotes); evidence of understanding of competing interpretations; incorporation of at least two ‘primary’ quotes. It is important that the essay is an argument that addresses the question and not merely a narrative of events. Clarity of writing is important, use only two or three direct quotes, use active and not passive voice.
