Topic
We all know that Animal Farm was written as a response to Stalin’s reign during the Soviet Union, but that era has come and gone and as each day passes, it will be practically ancient history. So why read Animal Farm? Surely there must be some deeper connection to the real world than just Soviet history. Come up with your own THEME of Animal Farm and be sure to discuss any elements of fiction (e.g. symbolism, characters, foreshadowing, irony, etc.) to back up your interpretation.
Tips
- Really dig deep into the thought of Animal Farm. Look so closely at the pages, your nose rubs the ink off of them.
- Demonstrate to me that you possess critical thinking skills. Don’t be afraid to say something that may sound way off base. If you can find evidence for your case in the story, use it!
