We can but should we?

Introduction
The changing technology has always assured of its efficiency in the way it works to the subject, complementing on the output of the health workers to their clients, especially in emergencies. Quick Response, (QR) codes, which gives the chance to attach variety of information, is one of the popping up technology in the healthcare organization. The use of QR in other industries has proved to be fruitful since these institutions have always associated with quick marketing. This implies that the healthcare institutions have also introduced the use of QR codes to ensure that they have closer attachment to their clients (my neighbors). They have acted as important part consequently, the clients should readily be positive to it since it comes with various significance including information distribution, medical treatment and efficiency. The advantages make the QR codes to be adoptable even though its adoption may associate to various disadvantages. The article answer the question my neighbors have always posed concerning adoption of QR codes: We can but should we?
Advantages
The neighbors should readily accept the use of QR codes because it helps in reducing medical errors thereby bearing an advantage to the clients. The reduction in the medical errors comes with the introduction of the “emergency card” that the clients can carry with them to wherever they are and at any time. The emergency card provides quick information to the health worker enabling him or her to provide the appropriate attention to the subject. The emergency card carries a QR code, which leads to important information about the client. The medical provider would only need to do a scan in order to get access to the information. For instance, the cards may carry a list of allergies and blood type that the client associate with making it easier to receive treatment during the emergency times. The emergency times always calls for quicker providence of individual information, otherwise there will be increased susceptibility of death. The adoption of the “emergency cards” might bring the difference between being alive or dying and the clients should readily accept it.
Another reason why the neighbors should adopt the QR codes because it provides variety of information to the clients about the medical providers. For instance, the medical provider might adopt the use of a refrigerator magnet, carrying a QR code, which they give to the clients. This is significant to the customers since, when in hospital, it provides them with the emergency room (ER) wait time. Consequently, it promotes efficiency, as the client will prepare himself or herself adequately, for the treatment, after knowing the ER waiting time. Further, the refrigerator magnet also allows the client to make an appointment with a family doctor easily. This occurs after scanning the QR code that leads the client to a landing page for scheduling appointment. The QR code also provides information to the customers who have come off some surgery procedure, making it easy for them to get answers to most of their questions (Waters, 2012). This makes the QR codes to be a proper way of providing the clients with significant information and services, which helps in the event of receiving attendance.
Further, the QR code also proves useful when there is need to locate the medical providers. The medical provider can provide the intended clients with brochure carrying a QR code. The medical provider may also place the QR code in a newspaper where the potential customers can easily get access to it. Upon scanning the QR code, the potential customer has the chance of knowing about the background of the medical provider including his or her expertise. Further, the QR code may also take the customer to a video with customers giving out their experience with the expertise. This allows the customers to make appropriate choice on the medical provider they should be goin to in order to receive appropriate treatment.
However, the QR codes may prove inefficient in situations where the client does not consider the best practices when using the codes. One of the best practices is for the client to consider a context. This implies that the potential customers must always have an access to a camera phone and the correct reader software that can helps in scanning the image yielded by the QR code (Kuhlmann, 2012). Consequently, the efficiency of the QR codes will only depend on the possession of such software. This have made many potential customers to miss such services because the relatively fewer number having access to the Smartphones. Only the smartphones are able to scan the QR code images making the people with mobile phones unable to receive the services.
Conclusion
Many of the medical institutions are now on the verge of adopting the services by the QR codes. The use of QR codes is important in saving the lives of many people especially during the emergency cases. It provides important information about the medical provider while also proving useful when there is need to locate the medical providers. This allows the client to make the appropriate choice when it comes to choosing the appropriate medical provider
Recommendation
I recommend that my neighbors should adopt the use of the QR codes for receiving services from the medical providers. The significance that it poses to them is enough evidence that they should readily adopt it. The QR codes assure my neighbors of quick services, from the medical provider, since they will only need to scan the QR codes in order to get the needed information. I also recommend that my neighbors should consider possessing a smartphones because they contain the reading software for the codes.
