What do you think is needed in order to educate the “whole” child in today’s demanding classroom? If you were teaching a class of elementary students and a number of them had behavioral challenges – what approaches might you adopt?
Consider the following:
How would you physically design the classroom.
What activities would you incorporate into the daily routine inside and outside of the curriculum. Would you include outings?
What other approaches and activities could you undertake?
What might some of the drawbacks to these approaches/ideas be? In your discussion, consider how some of these approaches be adapted, modified or extended to secondary grades.
