On the other hand, publications that do not contain peer–reviewed articles rely only on editorial judgment to determine whether the article is suitable for publication. Articles that are not peer reviewed can be found in magazines such as Time, People, Sports Illustrated, and other publications generally used for popular rather than academic reading.
Use the following guidelines to decide whether an article is from a peer–reviewed journal: A peer–reviewed article usually
 Consists of 10 pages or more
 Discusses research methods used by the author
 Contains statistical analysis
 Includes a list of references at the end of the article
