You will write a 5- to 7-page (1550-2000 word) essay based on assigned in-class readings and reputable outside sources. Your paper needs to examine a topic examined in this class and to construct a logical argument that centers around this topic. Each paper is due as an attached Word document through your assignments folder by 11:59 p.m eastern time on the due date. Your grade will be based on a combination of content (the strength of your thesis and the evidence you use to support it), style (how well the information flows), and accuracy of spelling, grammar, and notation. Why are rivers often the first geographic location for civilizations to begin building and expanding?
How do rivers affect the development of civilizations?
Why did civilizations develop vastly different with the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers versus the Nile River?
