The term “Third World” has been widely used since the 1960s. How would you define the term “Third World”? What, in your opinion, have been the major problems facing the Third World? How have they tried to solve these problems and with what success? Include specific examples of Third World countries and their experiences to substantiate.
The essay must be about 4 pages, typed and double-spaced. It must address the specific questions and reflect thought, organization, good grammar and spelling. Be sure to use your own language and do not copy verbatim from the text. Extra research is not required. However, if after doing the assigned readings carefully, you would like to add to your understanding, extra readings may add to your grade.
