Reflection
This course has presented what you might consider the “nuts and bolts” of teaching. You have learned about standards and accountability, unit and lesson planning, the relationship between effective teaching and effective learning, the importance of data-driven decision making, the use of research-based instructional strategies, and assessment methods and grading practices that motivate students and enhance learning.
Take a moment to consider how all of these topics are interrelated and how they will contribute to your thinking as you plan curriculum, instruction, and assessment to promote learning for all of your students.
With this in mind, write a 2- to 3-page Reflection on your learning in this course. Your Reflection should:
Explain how the planning processes, instructional strategies, and assessment practices you learned about will inform your continued work in this teacher preparation program and, specifically, the lesson plans you will develop for future courses.
Explore two questions you have about the planning process.
