• In its operation, the bank always ensure that they have working hours which fully accommodate the needs by the customers in a day without leaving out any activity during the day.
• According to the policy, the bank always operates for 6 days in satisfying the needs by the customer and no employee is expected to work for less than 6 days. This sums to 48 hours working time, in a week.

• The exigency may require the employees to work overtime but this should not always exceed 48 hours. The policy also requires the employees to report to work on time
• According to the bank policy, the observation of the public holidays depends on the directives from the Central Bank. It is also worth noting that if any holiday fall during the off-days then the bank will not be a subject to compensation of the off unless there is a directive from the bank.
1.2 WORKING HOURS DURING THE HOLY MONTH OF RAMADAN
The schedule of the bank may change especially the working hours depending on the religious or operational reasons for instance the Ramadan.

Maternity Hour
This is essential for the female employees and the bank give holiday to them in the following way. The 18th month following the deliver, the employee is a subject to an hour break majorly for nursing. The bank gives the employee option of choosing between the two and half hour or one hour break. The chosen option is in accordance to the directive given by the management.
Study Hour
Due to the need by some employees to continue their study, especially the U.A.E. nationals, the policy grant them an hours studying time depending on the course an individual is taking.
The bank will need evidence from institution in which the individual was undertaking his study to grant the latter a studying hour.
1.3 ADDITIONAL WORKING HOURS / OVERTIME
• In essence, the bank does not always allow its employees to work overtime, however this may change due to the business exigencies. Overtime granting is by the relevant manager or from the Unit Head who obtain permission from the head of division. This will guide in the compensation of the overtime payment in alignment with the labour law.
• According to the overtime payment policy, the employees in Grade 10 and below are subjected to overtime payment for hours worked in excess of the maximum 48 hours.
1.4 DURATION EXHAUSTED ON TRAINING
• The duration spent on training by an employee cannot be regarded as overtime even in cases of additional time from the usual working hours.
• On attendance of training sessions during weekly resting days, the employee is entitled to inclusion of a substitute day to his annual leave. Application of such conditions is in situations whereby an employee is present at a training class on a Friday and probably rested on Sunday in international locations.
1.5 ATTENDANCE
• Attendance by employees is compulsory and it should be done using electronic access cards or alternatively by an attendance register on entering the office building at the headquarters or various branches.
• Heads of department should be informed immediately just in case an employee fails to turn up for duty. When the employee resumes for duty, it is up to him to submit appropriate leave application through the O.L.M. system.
• Constant cases of late coming shall be considered as an act of misconduct and thus attract appropriate penalizing actions.
1.6 ABSENTEEISM
• If an employee is absent for inescapable motives, it shall be investigated upon without any favours
• One is not authorized to be absent during working hours not unless attending to emergency cases with precise permission from the manager who shall prepare a suitable note that shall be used for future references. On issuing this permission the manager must confirm that none of the customer services or progress of work is affected.
1.7 ACCESS TO OFFICE PREMISES
• Entry into office premises is monitored to limit cases of insecurity by use of access cards.
• Staff members are supposed to enter into their particular stations by use of their own cards where appropriate.
• Being in office premises after working hours or over holidays is prohibited. This happens only if it is necessary and its approval from respective Heads is appropriate.
• Signatory by staff at the security desk for accessing the offices after working hours is compulsory for security purposes.
1.9 ATTENDANCE ADMINISTRATION
• Employee attendance should be maximum unless explained to the H.R. Administration Payroll by an exemption.
• Employee nonattendance needs support by a Leave Application form.
• If an employee is regarded absent on the Attendance record with lack of explanation or support by a Leave Application it shall be treated as unpaid leave by the Human Resource administration who makes the right deductions
