Crowd funding

Crowd funding

In order to persuade potential donors to give money to your project, your crowd funding pitch must be logically
organized. In this assignment, you will outline the main points and supporting details of your pitch in a formal
outline. You will also write a draft of a catchy, audience-oriented introductory paragraph. Let’s get organized!
Step 1:
Begin by reviewing your instructor’s feedback on your Week 1 activities. You may need to refine your project

idea based on your instructor’s suggestions. You may need to do additional brainstorming to determine the
main points you will need to include in your outline and pitch in order to convince potential donors to give money
to your project. Think about the details that will appeal to your potential donors’ emotions, logic, and trust.
Step 2:
Write a catchy introductory paragraph that will entice your target audience of potential donors to read more
about your project. Your introductory paragraph should include a hook that catches your readers’ attention. It
should provide background information that sets up the situation and identifies what the pitch is about; in other
words, it should clearly state the main idea of the pitch. It should also set the tone for the rest of the pitch, one
that is appropriate for your target audience.
Tip: It might be easier to write the introductory paragraph after you’ve done Step 3.
Step 3:
Write a formal outline that provides an organized blueprint for your crowd funding pitch. The outline must be
written in complete sentences. It must include the main points of your pitch and significant supporting detail. It
must provide a clear visual structure for your pitch.
