Roy Gomez is a transportation maintenance supervisor for the Comal Highway Department. His salary is $50000 per year. Gomez participates in retirement plan into which he annually pays 5% of his salary. Comal County pays 4% of his salary and the state pays 2% of his salary.
Calculation
Amount paid by Gomez
5% of 50000
= 5/100X $50000
= $ 2500
Amount paid by Comal County
4% of $50000
=4/100X $50000
= $2000
Amount paid by the state
2% of $50000
= 2/100 X $50000
= $1000
