Adopting a New Healthy Behavior on Nutrition

Introduction
Wellness is the process through which people become aware of their health and make choices that would eventually lead in them to success. Physical dimension is one of the numerous dimensions of wellness. It is a dimension of wellness that largely deals with the practical body operations. Mostly, physical dimension of wellness involves use of regular body exercises, maintaining normal weight and stoppage in indulgency of activities that would actually lead to poor physical growth.
Physical Dimension of Wellness
As a woman and a mother this type of wellness is essential due to the responsibilities and changes that normally occur to human health. A woman needs to have acceptance and fulfillment with her body condition. Notably, a woman is always full of commitments and responsibilities which could actually lead her to bad health and poor eating conditions. Therefore by choosing physical health dimension the woman will be in a good position to embrace suitable change in her body through physical exercises as well as good nutrition (Mcmahon, 2010).
Physical dimension of wellness also encourages, independency and flexibility in a woman especially when a woman is loaded with tasks of looking after her family. I strongly believe that a mother who is also a student requires physical dimension because she needs to make adjustments to her class work and her children at the same time. The tussle that is usually associated with family responsibilities and studies is enormous and challenging. They call for flexibility both physically and mentally (Fair, 2009). A woman who is taking care of children should entirely learn to eat healthily. She also needs regular physical exercises so as to maintain her body metabolic rate in. After having children women are also known to experience an outrageous body weight which sometimes becomes abnormal. The abnormality usually prevents the women in carrying out their day to day activities. The abnormal weight affects their personality, careers, and studies for those who are students and their families as well. Therefore I strongly believe that a woman should therefore embrace the physical dimension of wellness (Kreider, 2009).
Notably, the physical dimension supports the flexibility and potency of the cardiovascular system thereby acting as a enhancer of ones life. Physical progression also creates room for knowledge about proper diet and nutrition. It is known to encourage physical activities and healthy diet that usually adds to good heights in wellness. A person who has had success in physical wellness is aware of what is good for her and what is bad for her. The awareness includes; proper consumption of the right of food, proper physical activities, health checks self care and suitable use of medical techniques. Notably, the benefit one gets from physical dimension leads a person to psychological satisfaction, self control, self-esteem, motivation determination in day to day activities as well as an excellent sense of direction. Determination will increase the moral of people in places of work, in their studies as well increases flexibility in day to day endeavors (Kreider, 2009).
For students their concentration in class will be raised and enhanced and mothers will become more flexible while taking care of their responsibilities. However for physical dimension to yield better results, one requires to have thorough knowledge, enthusiasm, good behavior, good attitude, commitment, self management as well as skills. Through all these, a person will achieve goals in health and personal suitability. Physical wellness can subsequently be maintained through constant exercise, good nutrition and good safety precautions.
Enabling Factors
However, there are a number of factors that contributes to attainment of the physical dimension. One of the factors is growth whereby a person is supposed to take better conscientiousness of her/his own life. Once a person has taken accountability of his/her own life, she/he will be in a position to make decisions of her style of living. Awareness is another factor that influences ones ability in the sense that awareness allows one to see the direction of your life. The other factor is assessment which makes one to recognize changes that you require to embrace in order to point out the direction you want to take as far as your life is concerned. Knowledge follows suites after assessment whereby the knowledge of the new behavior in your life will help you make suitable decisions. However the most important factor is skills and management techniques of the new behavior in your life. It is crucial to adopt personal strategies that will help you maintain the new life style which you have adopted. Finally, self respect is paramount in attaining the new behavior (Mcmahon, 2010).
Disabling Factors
Conspicuously, there are also a number of factors can hinder one from achieving success in physical dimension of awareness. These factors include environmental factors which include pollution. Pollution is factor that would not allow carrying out of physical exercise as well as proper eating conditions. Pollution will extensively hinder development of physical dimension wellness. The other factor is safety measures both in homes and other public areas. Notably, if one is involved in any form of accident, his/her ability to engage in physical dimension wellness is cut short (Fair, 2009). The other factor is behavioral factors whereby a person engages in use of drugs, alcohol which eventually hinders the success of physical dimension especially in diet and fitness. Stress has also been known to be a key hindrance to achievement of physical dimension awareness. If one is not emotionally stable then she/he would not be in a position to carryout physical exercises. Consequently, the person will also not eat according to the required diet.
Management of Disabling Factors
In order to attain good results, one should learn to take safety measures always to prevent any form of accident. This can be achieved through the use of helmets, seatbelts and learning safety road signs. One should also learn to listen to his/her body and identify changes as well as early symptoms of illness. Proper medical techniques are paramount in order to avoid drug abuse and overdose. Counseling should also be given to people who have issues of alcohol and drugs as well as people who are emotionally challenged. Adequate sleep and healthy eating is also vital to in stress management and reduction (Fair, 2009).
Goal Statement
I need to eat healthy, eating food with less cholesterol and at most two pieces of fruits in a day. To tract my eating behavior I will often refer to a calendar which is strategically set on my food stores in order to get feedback on my eating goals. I will also get someone to help me keep track of my goals. As a mother I will make sure I eat healthy and find time to be with my children in order to minimize stress which might hinder my new change in health. I will also need to adjust my schedule in order to find time for physical exercises as well time to carryout my other responsibilities (Fair, 2009).
As a student I will employ self-regulation whereby I will find time for physical exercise, time to study whereby I will set my target in class performance and also develop self-efficiency policies so that I can reach my goal in due time. In order to achieve all these goals a proper plan need to be implemented which include an appropriate time plan that will definitely accommodate all the activities as well as behavioral change strategy that will help implement behavior change through self management and confidence while carrying out the said activities.
Conclusion
Physical dimension of wellness is evidently significant in our day to day life. It helps us gain, flexibility, endurance and physical strength which subsequently leads us to a better life. It helps our body to remain healthy and strong through proper nutrition and good physical exercise. The physical growth we experience helps us in making the right choices as far as our life styles are concerned. It is therefore evident that physical dimension plays a vital role in developing a good healthy behavior.
