What role does quality play in the IT project methodology?

Paper 20
1. What role does quality play in the IT project methodology?
Methodology takes up a significant task in managing projects. The methodology allows the doctrines, practices and processes for undertaking the management (Marchewka). Project management is a necessary value adding into the process which elevates the probability of the project to be efficient while the methodology describes the procedure; project management methodology is useful in acquiring excellence and maturity in the organization of the project (Adam, March 29, 2010). Project management methodology is able to offer quality. Quality improvement is the procedure that insures the project will acquire the much needed requirements majorly through quality planning, quality assurance and quality control.
In quality planning, the project being undertaken has to meet certain tasks, these tasks are meant to acquire certain quality standards in addition to precise customer needs. It is hence that these tasks to be undertaken should be assessed and acknowledged before issuing it to the client. It is hence that quality assurance should be met which goes all the way from the start to the end of the project (Leal, January 29, 2010). If the set project does not meet the set standards then the tasks will not be met. In terms of quality control it is tasked with measuring the tasks against their quality metrics and descriptions.
2. How does verification/validation and change control support quality in an IT project?
Validation has grown to involve several tasks that are applied in quality control of products. It is a complete description of a series of processes so as to show and document that certain products can be depended upon through the design processes applied normally relying upon the complexity of present products, the processor makes sure that the products will of constant quality necessary for their desired use (pharmainfo, July 2005). To acquire this, process control and product testing will not acquire the needed quality, but all the aspects involving services which could impact quality must be designed in the best way possible to work properly.
Change control in quality management and IT is a formal process applied to make sure that the transformation to a product or a system is introduced in a managed and organized way. It limits the possibility that changes that are not needed will be brought about in a system with no doubt, bringing about faults in the system or altering changes made by other operators of the software. The main aim of change control process involves limited disturbance to services, limitation in back-out activities and cost-utilization of means used in ensuring change (NG, November 2001). Change is applied in several products, in IT systems it is a huge aspect of wider discipline of the change process.
3. Why should the project team focus on both internal and external customers?
Customer service can help to create or destroy the organization. With most organizations being used to below standard services, the organizations that correlate with the customers they serve; both internal and external, they are bound to acquire massive benefits in the future times.
Customers are quite necessary for the success of any business. Both the internal and external customer consider communication as quite significant (Point, 2012). The internal customer is useful in that important results are acquired between the internal customer and the internal service provider. The provider hence clarifies the understanding with commitments and time sets. The external company should of prior consideration for any business organization. They are business clients that buy goods and services for an organization. The client is normally from the public and missing their spending power would result to most organizations to run out of business. With the client notices that one has value for his or her business, they are bound to return. The organization should be able to note the needs of the clients then produce the right goods and services and lastly estimate the satisfaction acquired.
