Problem statement
There is poor pre hospital care in the country of Saudi Arabia. This has contributed to the number of deaths related to road injuries to increase. . This is due to the rise in road accident cases. Many people lose their lives because of accidents. Many of these people are innocent pedestrians who are run over by vehicles that lose control.
Saudi Arabia has poor road conditions that increase the chances of road accidents. Many of these roads have potholes while others are not tarmac. The Saudi government has neglected to renovate some of these roads and the outcome has been the increase of road accidents and death of the Saudi people. This has prompted the government to announce a 29.6 billion dollar upgrade of its roads and bridges.
Saudi Arabia needs to add qualified personnel to handle emergency cases. These are the medical practitioners and paramedics. These health professionals reach the scene of accidents and give the injured first aid. This increases chances of survival for the injured. Saudi Arabia needs to invest on these professionals.
Hypothesis
Saudi Arabia has to increase the pre hospital care in order to save lives of people involved in road accidents.
Research significance
There needs to be an improvement of pre medical care in the country of Saudi Arabia. This will reduce the mortality rate of injured people prior to reaching hospital (Bartley 2008). A person will endure much wound in case he does not receive pre hospital care than if he receives it. Saudi Arabia has the worst case of road carnage worldwide (Jeffreys 2011). Improvement in pre hospital care will save lives.
Pre hospital care increases the chances of survival. Research shows that more than 17 Saudi Arabians die daily through road accidents. Road accidents are the number one killer in Saudi Arabia (Jabbour 2012). Six thousand four hundred and eighty four people died between 2008 and 2009. 36 000 people received injuries. These injuries were because of the road accidents. This took place in 485 000 accidents.
The county can perk up pre hospital care by investing in first aid materials and ambulances for transportation (Mufti 2000). This will increase the chances of people not succumbing to death after road accidents. Government officials should enact policies that persuade citizens to study medicine. The need to improve infrastructure should be a priority for the government especially the roads. Poor road conditions lead to the occurrence of accidents. The Saudi government, therefore, needs to improve this to curb the cases of road accidents.
Conclusion
Everyone has a right to life, therefore, the Saudi administration needs to perk up the health sector to safeguard the lives of the citizens. Every Saudi citizen needs to have protection on the road. The administration should ensure that the roads are safety for both pedestrians and those travelling in vehicles. This will reduce the rate of road carnage in the country.
