Preliminary Thesis
There are a number of causes of childhood obesity most of which depends of the nutrition one practices. America has the highest number of children suffering from early obesity, most of which are below the age of sixteen years. The solution to this problem of childhood obesity significantly relies on nutrition practice. This puts parents on the watch as those responsible for their children condition. This research proposal aims at pointing out some of the hidden causes of childhood obesity and its possible solution.
Summary
The effects of this vice are measurable and are evident from the number of American kids admitted in several hospitals in the US. The research relied on quantitative samples from certain states in the United States. The sampling method used was random sampling. This involved a number of states in US including Colorado, Texas, Georgia, and Ohio. The findings from this state’s indicated that the main cause of obesity is poor nutrition practice among most children in the United States of America. Interview from parents indicated that they fed junk food, and other foodstuff containing too much fat. This explains the rapid the high number of obese children in the US.
Research Procedure
This research involves random sampling from four states in the US namely Colorado, Texas, Georgia, and Ohio. Instruments useable in this study includes open-ended questionnaires observation is also applicable. In some cases, interviews are applicable when interviewing parents on the kind of nutrition they administer to their children. Parents of the children involved in the samples participate in interviews concerning the kind of nutrition diet they administer to their children. Small random sampling collection from a different location in these states takes place, where children from in schools, hospitals, and neighbourhoods participate. After collection of the results tallying and comparisons of the results, takes place and analysis conducted.
Analysis
This step of research involves deeper analysis of the results. It involves finding the cause of the results and other factors involved in the research. Results from the four states are keenly analysed in terms of the type of nutrition administered to the children, effects of such nutrition on the health of children, and the possible solution to the research question. This research can take a minimum of two months since it involves a large sample is under random selection. The distance from each state to another is long and requires a lot of time to cover. The research also requires random samples from each state, which also requires time to cover. In each area sample, thirty kids participated making the total number of objects sampled total up to four hundred and eighty in all the four states. The variables in this research, which included junk food consumption and was not controlled. That is evident from the different results from the different samples taken that show different results. The results from each state vary from the results from another state.
Generalization of the Results
From the results patterns, one can generalize the results since all the factors causing obesity in children in the US is the same throughout the states. Nutrition practice among children is poor in all states. Quite a number of the children consume junk food and other foodstuffs containing a high percentage of fat and calories. This indicates that most children from these states have the same health condition.
