FINAL PAPER with in text citations 3 PAGES : Paper Information: Health is a broad term referring to ones physical, mental and social well being. It is more than just the absence of disease; it is a sense of wellness. There are many factors both intrinsic and external that can alter ones health and lead to dysfunction and/or illness. For the final project I would like you to explore an external factor that leads to dysfunction and disease. The external factor can be one of many possibilities such as an environmental toxin or pathogen i.e., Swine flu, Hanta virus, PCB’s, radiation, asbestos, contaminated water, oil spill, etc; or a societal issue such as: stress, poverty, sexually transmitted diseases, drugs, alcohol or a personal/behavioral factor such as obesity, sedentary lifestyle, depression, alcoholism, etc. The link to the World Health Organization website below will serve as a springboard to help you to select a health issue; World Health Organization. You will note there is one entire section devoted to HEALTH TOPICS on the leftside of the homepage. Please review the wealth of resources and information to gain a better perspective and to learn a bit about the varying factors that affect our health around the world. You may choose one of the health issues noted or decide to select one that was not covered here. Either way I would like you to research the topic/factor chosen and select at least 6 scholarly, scientific references to base your paper on.
