Personal statement
Knowledge empowers individuals and ensures that the society in general transforms and advances. The quest for education has become a priority across the country owing to its value to the individual as well as to the nation. I do believe that as a student in management, exchange programs are essential in disseminating knowledge to students.
I am an ambitious student in my final year at one of the UK Colleges. I do value education and my desire is to change the society into a better place. I developed a passion to pursue management from my personal experience. I do believe that not every person can be a manager and for that reason, I cannot blame my beloved dad. He was such a poor manager and this made us to have problems with our schooling. Despite earning handsomely, he spent all his money anyhow without thinking about tomorrow. This was a lesson to me and I developed a passion to study management so as to be different from him. I wanted to avoid his mistakes and also to use my knowledge to help others in their management of their properties and financials. A society that is not disciplined and lacks management skills is at risk of under developing. We as a people must therefore rise up to the occasion and save these individuals that face these challenges. By so doing, I believe I will impact on the lives of many families as well.
I have gained a lot of skills and knowledge in management at this level. I do appreciate the need to share our skills and experiences with others. This exchange program therefore, to me is an opportunity that will not only expand my understanding about management concept but will also enable me to learn other people’s social skills. It will also be a golden opportunity for me to travel to the US and particularly to Boston College, one of the best colleges in the world. This is a privilege to me as well.
The world has become a global village with the introduction of technology. It has therefore become a necessity for learners to acquire skills and knowledge on various aspects and to understand different cultures. Therefore, I do not take this program for granted as this opportunity will enable me to learn about management practices in the US and how Americans socialize and live. The culture of Americans is different from that in UK and it is through such programs that people or students get to mingle with one another and learn other people’s cultures. It is therefore, an opportunity that will add more skills and knowledge to the participants, I involved.
The facilities and the resources available in Boston are enough to enhance learning. The college has some of the best professors that instill knowledge to students. The students at the college are also proficient because of the adequate facilities and highly qualified professors. These are some of the benefits of the program to me and to other students. I also do believe that, I will be of great value to my fellow colleagues from Boston College. I will also disseminate and share my skills and knowledge with them.
I render my gratitude to the school administration for their concerted efforts and their appreciation that exchange programs can be very important learning programs to students. I believe that this opportunity will make me competent and more knowledgeable in management. My passion to become a good manager and to transform the lives of people in the society is coming into reality. I believe that through this program, I will be able to improve my understanding and perception about management. I look forward to meeting my fellow colleges at Boston colleague to share our skills, knowledge and experiences.
