Midterm Paper 100 points
Identify an international student/adult from a foreign country and carry out a 30-60 minute face-to-face interview with the person. Ask questions about their culture as well as his/her perspective about living in the U.S. Questions may cover, but not limited to, themes about education system, health care system, parenting, welfare, social life, freedom, race, religious, immigration, inequality, etc. Write 4 double-spaced pages paper in which you summarize the interview and answer the so what question (implications of your findings). Use Times Romans or Calibri 12pt font size. Use at least 4 key terms (see the list of terms distributed in class) in the body of your essay.
Do not write your paper in the form of a dialogue in which you present the questions and the responses. You are writing an essay and the paragraphs must be well-developed. Report and analyze what the interviewee said with respect to your own knowledge and experiences in your own country. This means, the so what question can be infused in each paragraph. Your paper should have an introduction, body, and conclusion.
You will be given about 5 minutes to discuss your findings with the class on May 30th. For the presentation, you will state the most striking points of the interview and say why those points stood out to you.
Print the rubric and attach to your paper and submit in class and electronically.
