Introduction
Judaism is one of the well-established and identified religions in the entire world that unfolds the way of life of the Jewish people. In most of the historical books concerning religion, Judaism is depicted to be the religious that binds together all the Jewish people. The origin of Judaism is considered to exist in the relationship between the Jewish people and God. The origin of Judaism as religion emerged from the agreement between the children of Israelites and God. Since most of the Israelites were slaves and needed help, there was an agreement with God on how they would live (DeMillie, 1956). Since the children of Israelites needed freedom from the numerous years of imprisonment, it was vital that they acquire rules to adhere to while released from the prisons. Therefore, the origin of the Judaism religion emerges from the agreement that was established between the children of Israelites and God. The children of Israelites had to promise that they would follow strictly the orders given by God for them to receive freedom (Preminger, 1960).
In most of the ancient movies, the Judaism religion is revealed since most of the films were produced basing on the way of life of the Hebrews and children of Israelites. Most of the ancient films try to unfold the truth concerning the religious practices of the past people. For instance, in the film, The Ten Commandments, various elements of the Judaism religion reveled to the current world. Most of the religious circumstances in the film are based on the ancient Judaism practices that were followed by the children of Israelites. A close watch of the film reveals the way there was no religion at first since all the members of the society lacked a common God (DeMillie, 1956).
One of the key elements of the Judaism religion is that all the members of the society believed in one existing God that was to be worship by all the people. In the previous year before the introduction of the Judaism religion, there was no such religious practice. Although the ancient people believed in various gods, there was no indication that the people used to assemble to pray. All the people would definitely allocate their own free time to pray and communicate with their gods (Preminger, 1960). In fact, most of the people would use intermediaries and other special members of the society to communicate with gods.
In some community, the sorcerers and other magician members of the society would indulge into the religious communication. This is reveled in the film, The Ten Commandments, in which the Hebrew lacked a common place to worship and a definite God to worship (DeMillie, 1956). There were various gods that the people assumed that they controlled various aspects of life. For instance, in the film The Ten Commandments it is depicted that there was a god that was in charge of rainfall, the sun god that controlled the sun. After all the harvest, the people would then contribute to give thanks to all the gods for providing the appropriate conditions for human survival.
However, after Moses rescues the children of Israelites from bondage, there are regulates that Moses makes and agrees with the other members of the society. In accordance to the film, The Ten Commandments it was Moses that was assigned the duty to free the Israelites from bondage. However, this only after there was a covenant agreement that was made between the children of Israelites and God. The Israelites agreed to serve only one God and to worship him alone until they arrived in the Promised Land. Therefore, one of the elements of the Jewish religion is that only one god was to be worship and prayers lead by the priest. Moses was instructed to collect the Ten Commandments, which were offered by God in the mountain of Sinai. The Israelites were to adhere to the Ten Commandments to live in peace and love.
Another element of the Jewish life is revealed in both the films, The Ten Commandments and Exodus 1960 is that there are certain people in the society that will reveal the truth about the future. The films indicate that there are prophets that always unfold the truth that is yet to occur in the future (Preminger, 1960). The prophets were believed to have emerged from the ancestral land hence have knowledge of what will happen in the future. The people also reveal both the good and worse moments that were yet to occur hence affect the people in future. The prophets were also vital in reveling that the people were to be judged in accordance to their current actions. In this case, if one did well to other members of the society, he was to be rewarded with good. However, in the contrary, if one member of the society lacked reverence of God and performed contrary to the commandments, he/she was to be punished severely.
Conclusion
In accordance to the film, The Ten Commandments, there are various elements that were practiced in the Jewish people especially concerning religious that are diverse from other religions. One of the most evident deference between the Jewish people and other religious was the fact that the Jewish people only worship a single God (DeMillie, 1956). However, unlike the Hebrew who has numerous gods, the Jewish only performed religious acts in specific places. This religious norm was only significant to certain families and people. For instance, Moses was one key element in the religion of Judaism to seal the covenant between the children of Israelites and God.
