Japanese Women at Work

How were the daily routines of women at work?
Life was not easy for women in both in the factory and in the office in Brother. They were sharing some similarities and to some extend some differences. Both women in the factory and those in Brother Office assume a variety of responsibilities. While those in the office ran up and down to prepare coffee, green tea and wash the dishes, those in the factory woke up earlier to mop the houses, wash utensils and wash toilets. Women from sides did many jobs while men sit idle watching them as they perform easy tasks. The women in the factory had a busy schedule as compared to those who in the office. They engaged themselves in more work that is tedious. They work with machines, which were not that effective. This slowed down their work. They worked in a polluted environment under poor conditions. Watching them while at, work, they look dark and smell awful because of the black grease used. Despite working in poor conditions, they remain motivated by the noises from machines. They were dancing to their tunes, as they love their work. Both women in the factory and those working as office ladies received low wages. They offered cheap labor and were hired in large numbers. Unlike those working in the factory, the ratio of women to women in Brother was balance. Those in the factory got opportunity to join extracurricular activities, for example, they played handball.
How did women influence work in Japan?
Women are the most hired because they offer cheap labor, but still they influence Japan work negatively. For example, they are at work for a reason, that is, to save for their marriage. This is because; it is Japanese belief that women should pay their dowries. However, women labor has increasing over years, women do not stay at work for long hence low salaries. Gaining promotion for them is very hard. Unlike their males counterparts who receive promotion as soon as they attain majority. Distribution of responsibilities in Brother is not fair. Men are holders of managerial posts and key decision makers in the company. Ladies offer support and are overloaded.
What is relationship between marriage and work?
However, marriage affects the performances of many industries. Japanese view marriage, as stability in adult responsibilities. It also leads to mental stability and young people should marry. Marriage is a social and economical achievement, which brings stability. It is also achieving a goal and is a sign of maturity. Women who marry become depend of their husband. They quit jobs and become homemakers. It is marriage that keeps people committed their jobs. People work hard at work to be able to save for marriages. Unlike most societies, Japanese women pay dowries to their husbands. This has been a key reason for women to commit themselves to their work until they raise enough money. It is a belief in Japan that women responsibilities is child bearing and home makers. The women have proved them wrong, when older women whose children are at college, resume work to be able to meet their needs. Being there financially for children is equal to being there for their social life. As women offered responsibilities by society, so to the company. People assume different roles as they do so in marriage.
In marriage, men are the key decision makers and that is what is reflected in Japanese companies. Company’s dormitories are organized in a way that, males and female dormitories are separated, but they intermingle while at work hence can form relationships. Relationships’ content and structure of workers affect their attitudes to job. Workers follow instructions placed as ties.

What are the conditions of women’s work in Japan?
Women in Japan work under poor conditions. Despite harsh weather, women did their best in their work. Those working in the factory reported to work early in the morning. They resume to their daily work of washing the toilets, mopping the houses and washing clothes. These kinds of jobs belong to women: that is why men cannot wake up early. The machines for washing are not that effective, and it slow down their work.
Employees faced challenges but persevered. The issue of inequality is the main challenge, which the company and the entire nation need to take into consideration. The women were overworking with little pay, the machines, which they used, were not efficient and this slowed down their work. In order to improve performance, companies should give women a chance to occupy managerial positions and be involved in decision-making. Their salaries should be improved and machines they use to be maintained and those which broke down be replaced. Sharing of work with their male counter parts is necessary.
Conclusion
Though working under poor conditions, Japanese women work hard. Despite facing challenges, they remain committed. The companies should improve their working conditions and motivate women at work in order to maintain them. This will improve their performance hence increase their return.
