Knowledge Based System

The computerized decisions are termed as practical through the development of the mini-computers, timeshare operating systems and the distributed computing. The implementation of these systems began in the mid-1960, after the advance in technology. Diverse individuals have the perception of DSS from dissimilar vantage points and different aspects of what happens are reported. Through the evolution of technology, new computerized decisions are depicted in the application. According to researchers, there are diverse frameworks that aid in the development and understanding the system. Currently, the history of DSS is organized in five diverse functions, communication, article, facts, data and the model-driven decision support systems. During the beginning of 1980, diverse activities developed associated to the construction and the study of the DSS in various educational institutions. These actions have elaborated the aspect of decision-making support system above the initial business and the application domain. These miscellaneous programs are referred as the DSS and from the early days, they are designed to support the decision makers at all levels of organization. They are also implicated in the support process, financial assessment and deliberate supervisory.

The decision model is a new aspect of the Business Logic. Generally, it is referred as the business logics that drive the decisions of the business rule at all the periods. Instead of trying to evaluate the logic business at each period, the decision model groups the rules in a natural logical group with the aim of establishing the structure that simplify the model. Majority of the companies have taken on natural language approaches to the business rules, building the expressions of rigorous process in the insurance of the maintenance of vocabulary in the business and enterprise management. This gives the organizations a chance of minimising their costs and increasing the quality of their business rules while adopting the new level of rigor. The accomplishment of the decision models creates the business logic structures that are based on the scope of each business decision.

Decision making style is the perception in which individuals differ along in their approach when it comes to decision making. The prior is an individual way of thinking as people have diverse ways of thinking. Some individuals are rational and logical in the way they make decisions and process information. A rational form views the information in order and makes sure that they are logic and consistent before indulging in any activity involving decision making process. Others are creative and intuitive and they do not have to evaluate data in a certain form but they are usually comfortable while doing it. This describes an individual’s tolerance for ambiguity although others tend to have minimal tolerance. These forms of consistency structure information that has less ambiguity. There are people who can tolerate high levels of ambiguity and they have the capability of processing many thoughts at the same period. This is the most effective decision style and it relates to the theory of Frederick Speakman.

According to Frederick Speakman, “The roads we take are more important than the goals we announce. Decisions determine destiny.” It is a quote based on the aspects of decision-making and it is related to the current decision making style referred currently as the ‘multi-voting’ process. The quote is a guiding role that requires leaders to evaluate diverse decision-making process before making conclusions.
