What it is like to be an online student in criminal justice at the graduate level

The aim of the exploration research of ‘what it is like to be an online student in criminal justice at the graduate level’ is to conclude if online studying would be advantageous when exhibited by specific individuals. Before concluding on becoming an online student, it is essential that an individual weigh the expected advantages and disadvantages of the previous experiences. This decision aims at challenging an individual through hinting them on the program and encouraging them to evaluate both opinions.

Exploration Study

Embarking on an online class means that the individual has the chance of working at their own given time and limits. It requires one to think about the issue of being aware that there will be no available lecturer for consultation at any given moment. The disadvantage could be that the individual involved may be a visual type who requires the presence of a tutor to guide them. Eventually, they need to execute the situation that requires them to have the opportunity to have any queries attended to with immediate effect, and communicate personally with their colleagues and have the chance of attending the lecture lessons. This exploration is termed as qualitative due to the advantages and disadvantages associated to the issue of online classes being beneficial to an individual as a graduate student.

Description Study

Based on the Description Study, the experience as an online student would be referred as quantitative. This is based on the cost savings and the amount of time consumed during the course of online training. It is evaluated that there would be insufficient time on issues such as traffic and the transport fee. The occurring cost may be because of attending various study discussions with colleagues, or taking the initiative of touring to a library or any agency dealing with criminal justice with the aim of obtaining effective information that will aid their research. The principle shortcoming developing from the aspect of being an online student is the issue of failure to complete studies due to lack of motivation and inability of initiating relationships with others.

Explanatory Study

According to the aspects of explanatory study, the aspect of being an online student in criminal justice would be notable experience. Through the involvement of classes, the disadvantages are changed to advantages. This gives the students an opportunity to relate with their colleagues whom they take similar classes with, or are in the same semester together. This form of study gives the answers to diverse questions posed in relation to online studying. It is ranked as qualitative because of its efforts in the attempt of summarizing the aspects of exploration as an experience of online students.

Application study

In application study, the online students have the chance of analyzing all the conditions and terms that are expected to be fulfilled when one is an online student and the determinant of whether the experience will yield positive or negative results. The students have the chance of implementing their lessons as online students in their future decisions and they are equipped with the tactics of handling new experiences. After evaluating the elements of the course and transforming them to positivity’s, online students have the perception of success in future after graduating from their online classes. This study is identified as qualitative due to its ability to cater for prior issues of the ambiguity of being an online student
