mentall illness and aging

What is a mental illness? A mental illness is a condition that impacts a person’s thinking, feeling or mood may affect and his or her ability to relate to others and function on a daily basis. Each person will have different experiences, even people with the same diagnosis. Most people believe that mental disorders are rare and happen to someone else. In fact, mental disorders are common and widespread. The true that most families are not prepared to see their loved one has a mental illness. It can be physically and emotionally trying, and can make us feel vulnerable to the opinions and judgments of others.
The rate of aging in the United States will increase dramatically in the second and subsequent decades of the century. It can be physically and emotionally trying, and can make us feel vulnerable to the opinions and judgments of others. Within the UnitedStates, the size of the population over age 65 has soared during this century, increasing from 3 million in 1900 to 34.3 million today.Since 1940, the population of people over 65 has tripled and is projected to more than double again by 2050. Aging is something that everybody experience’s in their lifetime. In Society today, both men and women try everything they can to prevent the natural process of aging. However, how well each endures that process depends on the individual and the environment. So why does human aging? cells in human body are constantly dying and replacing themselves, but when human get older the regenerative process begins to slow until it stops replacing them at all. As when human get older, the brain start to aging too. Our human brain consist of living cells, which are constantly learning, as we referrer a small child’s brain as a sponge because it is constantly thinking and storing memories. The When that child gets older, the brain will get older, and it will be strong but response will slow down (Perlmutter, David. (2004) Over time memory tends to become less efficient as we age and the neurons in the brain decreases (Bendheim, P.E. (2009). By 2050 in the US, 20 percent of the population will be 65 years or older. And as the elderly population increases, so will the incidence of age-related neurological disorders (Perlmutter, David. (2004). In a study of John A. Hartford Foundation, ‘’Of the 40 million have a mental health disorder( such as depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar discarder, or schizophrenia), 20% of people age 55 years or older experience some type of mental health concern . This number of older people increases. Many older adults with mental illness suffer needlessly.
