In this unit you will be reading Arthur Miller\’s play The Crucible, but Miller would rather you had seen it performed on a stage. Why? Are you a sports fan? Or think about the difference between seeing a painting or having it described to you.

*Watch a brief clip of a movie or stage production.
*Read the first few pages of the play — up until John Proctor enters the scene. Then….
1. Make a list of all of the things the video offers that reading the play does not.
