Purpose of this assignment
Discuss differing Leadership styles and how the process of influencing others to work willingly towards achievement of organisational goals and adapt their style to the need of the team and the situation.
Scenario:
Prepare an A4 information sheet, 2 tables and corresponding essays to evidence your research into leadership styles and provide responses to how leaders motivate their teams and individuals to achieve the organisations goals.
Task 1 – 2.1, 2.3
Create an A4 information sheet to explain the following:
a. What are the necessary skills and traits of successful leaders
b. Select three examples of successful leaders. Identify their leadership style, skills and traits.
Providing theory, models and styles to support your answer. Include how they have adapted their styles to respond to a change
Task 2 – 2.2, 2.3, 2.4
Create two tables
a. Table one: Provide an explanation of what is a leader and what is a manager.
In essay format – In no more than 250 words, explain the main differences between a leader and a manager.
b. Table two: From your three leadership examples in task one, explain the different motivation techniques used to meet the organisation’s objectives.
In essay format – In no more than 250 words, compare and contrast the 3 different leadership styles.
