What are the root causes of terrorism in the Middle East, and how are they exploited to justify violence?
Poverty, and oppressive regimes, in addition to sectarianism are the root causes of terrorism in the Middle East because they have prevented people from accessing high quality education. Justifying violence by the misinterpretation of religious texts is common amongst terrorists. Religious leaders, or clerics use those texts to justify Jihad and to declare a holly war against a nation, religion or an ideology. This links with the first part of the answer, because lack of education could lead people to follow those destructive ideologies. Simultaneously, poverty may lead people towards that direction for the purpose of receiving financial benefits, and feed their families.
