Memo
Mission statement: To be the best Children’s Mental Health Network (CMHN) in the world by conducting relevant research in health care management.
Vision – To achieve the best in all healthcare matters.
Strategic Goals
- Ensure integration – Keeping our goals aligned with the Children’s requirements.
- Strengthen connection – For all those involved to receive information as per their need.
- Cost Management – By ensuring there are cheaper ways achieving our goals.
- Outreach Services – To ensure all communities are strengthened through special
- Research work – Allow continuous research work being carried at all time.
A plan designed for operations management is used in the area of health care to help the organization come up with ways to utilize of any available opportunities and hence minimize threats which may arise. Operational schedule entails the vision of CMHN, which help to give hope for kids while strategic goals work as guidelines for the non-profit organizations ( Bandweth, 2000).
The mission explains the purpose of CMHN. The approximate number of children to be screened is 250 and a total cost of $1250. This means every child is screened at $5.
The various internal factors which are observed at CMHN are the various strengths available and the weaknesses which may arise. CMHN lacks financial transparency, aspect that is likely to hamper it very operations (Terry, 1999). The organization is expected to incorporate best practices and adopt new technology for purposes of accountability, without which, might pose a threat to the organization. Divergent views by the four directors enhance growth and independence of one’s view point. The four directors also exhibit varying belief systems when it comes to funding CMHN’s operations.
The key opportunities which may be highlighted are in the external environment and are seen in the technology in mental health management and the use of control plan to monitor the progress. The economy is also a serious external variable as is the government’s role.
CMHN shall standardize communication to help the connection between the physicians and the local community. All the physicians shall be connected to CMHN and to help in improvement of the services.
Chester (2006) noted that auditing is the best way to monitor development of an organization following the organization’s set strategies. Auditing is therefore the process by which CMHN plans to measure its performance in the market. There will be occasional audit of the various departments which will help the organization identify any problems and help to close any identified gaps. Total revenues and their breakdown should be closely appraised. The same should apply for money left over to roll into donations. The audit plan shall work together with the research group to ensure that the best health care services are delivered. This will in the end, help the organization to meet its defined vision and the organization also observe the values written in the mission.
Figure 1: Shows the supply and demand curve
CHMN should hinge on the supply and demand model as indicated in figure 1 above, this depicts how cost vary as an outcome of a equilibrium between product accessibility at each price (supply) and the yearning of those with the buying power at each cost (demand). The line-graph demonstrates a paradigm shift when it comes to demand from D1 to D2 together with the consequential hike in cost and quantity expected to reach a new market-clearing equilibrium point on the supply curve (S).
Summary
The current operation plan for CMHN organization is to conduct several audits with research being carried out in the areas in which kids are found to be experiencing serious mental problems. There is a shortcoming in the area of technology where great experts are still being outsourced to help in departments which have complex problems. However, this is problem being experienced by all organizations in mental healthcare management who are all seeking for improvement of mental health. As experts involve in various research work, they are all calling for further research to be done and the improvement of the technological input (Godwin, 2003).
