Politics
Number one
Action and not merely words is what the world of today needs. Most countries around the globe today are not where they should be because the leaders that get elected in the office are men or words, and not men of deeds. When such leaders get into office, they forsake all the words they fed the citizens, and use the office for their own advancement. It is important in this world that people not merely think or speak, but also act upon spoken words, and positive thoughts. This will make the world a much better place, and help the developing countries which are not yet at par with developed countries catch up.
Number Two
Human rights is a big part of the United States policy. Protection of human rights was engraved in the United States constitution those many years ago, and the United States till date strives to protect human rights even through its foreign policy. Human rights in this case means securing the peace of citizens, deterring aggressive behavior, promoting the rule of law at all times, fighting unwarranted crime and corruption, strengthening the democracy of nations, and deterring humanitarian crises. All these aspects of human rights are important to the U.S. even in its foreign policy. The United States normally tries to hold other governments accountable to the aforementioned human rights objectives. The United States additionally tries to make sure that other nations have respect for human rights; this means that the United States government ensures the freedom of press, women, children, and the likes in other countries. It is suffice then to conclude that the United States is really quite active when it comes to human rights and foreign policy. This is a noble act of which I am of the opinion that they should continue. If it were not for their promotion of human rights, citizens of nations such as Iraq would not be having some of the freedom which they have today. The continued promotion of human rights through foreign policy by the United States has indeed made a big positive impact in many countries throughout history, and thus the United States should continue in its noble endeavors.
Number Three
The world we are living in is one ridden with power hungry men and women. Those in leadership in different parts of the world, strive to gain as much power as they can, using all means possible, even if it means having ill regard for the next human being. This condition is pathetic, and is one that is sure to stay that way for a long time. The situation cannot be said to be getting better for when you look at for example developing countries in Africa, you constantly see a power struggle. A country such as Somalia has never ceased to war just because of a power struggle. There is so much hatred in the world, and hunger for power, that the suffice conclusion to make is that peace will not be achieved in the near future.
Number Four
The current situation of the world is one where there is a big gap between developed countries, and developing countries. Even so, technology has brought globalization to the world, and the world has in a sense become like a global village. It is sad however to see some of the effects of this globalization being felt. Some of the sad effects include the economic crisis that was felt by everyone, and which many nations are still to recover. The world of today is also ridden with a lot of power struggle, corruption, and in some parts, ill regard for human life and democracy. I believe we got to where we are through the fact that nations were not trying to promote cohesive efforts as they are now. If in the past, world leaders could have had meetings like they constantly do now, I think the world would be a much better place. There are efforts though being put to improve the world we are in, such as environmental efforts. Such efforts being seen by the meetings world leaders have, help us to see that a better future might be in store for us all. Respect and freedom for all should be promoted, and the world in the future will have hope of being a better place; a peaceful place.
